The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
"All of you are shepherds, and each one is responsible for his flock. A leader of people is a shepherd and responsible for them. A man is like a shepherd over his family, and he is responsible for his flock. A woman is like a shepherd over her husband’s house and children, and she is responsible for them. And a slave is a guardian of his master’s property and is responsible for it. So all of you are guardians and are responsible for your charges."(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Muslim Home Education Network Australia (MHENA) is a dedicated and passionate support group who strive to serve and empower Muslim home-schooling families.
Our aim is to build a strong and vibrant Muslim home-schooling community by offering services that best suit the needs of our members and friends.
Our vision is to aid parents to foster moral, intellectual, and spiritual individuals who desire and cherish the pursuit of knowledge and skills to become healthy human beings whom are able to make positive changes in the world.
MHENA has provided the wider Muslim home school community with support by organising excursions, science incursions, geography fairs, Aboriginal awareness programs, woodworks workshop, sports programs and athletic carnivals, not only to assist parents with their requirements by NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) to home school their children, but also to build generations of strong and independent individuals with high self-esteem.
MHENA is an unaffiliated not- for- profit support group, run exclusively by home educating parents from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds, who volunteer their time to MHENA. Any of MHENA profits are re-invested to provide further opportunities to Muslim home-schooled children.
MHENA is proud to have a diverse cultural home school community where everyone belongs. Through their dedication and shared vision, we are able to provide possibilities to home-schooled children that would otherwise be impossible.
