Who we are
Muslim Home Education Network Australia (MHENA) has supported Muslim home educating families since 2015. The organisation grew from the experience of home educating parents from diverse backgrounds who wanted families to have access to practical guidance, learning opportunities and community support.
Our focus today
This website now focuses on reliable information and educational resources rather than membership or event promotion. Our aim is to make it easier for parents and students to find clear guidance on Australian home education requirements, curriculum planning, lesson preparation and useful learning resources.

MHENA’s original aims and community work
MHENA was created by home educating parents to support and empower Muslim homeschooling families, build community and help parents foster moral, intellectual and spiritual development alongside academic learning.
From 2015, MHENA’s community activities included excursions, science incursions, geography and science fairs, Aboriginal awareness programs, woodworking workshops, sports programs, athletic carnivals and short educational courses. The original organisation described itself as an unaffiliated, not-for-profit support group run by home educating parent volunteers from diverse backgrounds.
This website preserves that educational purpose while focusing primarily on practical guidance and resources families can access online.
